GamFratesi is the Copenhagen-based design studio of Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. Gam holds a master’s in furniture design, while Fratesi earned a master’s in industrial design. Before founding their studio, the duo gained experience in architecture firms across Japan and Scandinavia, blending diverse cultural influences into their work. Their design philosophy fuses tradition with innovation, drawing from classic Danish craftsmanship and Italian conceptual design. This cross-cultural foundation informs their minimalist aesthetic, where materials and techniques are explored experimentally, and furniture pieces are imbued with subtle stories, symbols, and associations. GamFratesi’s work reflects a deep respect for heritage while pushing the boundaries of contemporary design.
The duo has received numerous accolades, including International Designer of the Year (EDIDA, 2020), International Young Designer of the Year (EDIDA, 2013), the Finn Juhl Prize (2015), and the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2018). They have been featured in Architectural Digest’s AD100 in 2022 and 2023.
