Inspired by the sculptural form of the Asterias cactus native to the mountainous regions of Mexico, the Asterias table by Patricia Urquiola transforms natural geometry into refined, contemporary design. The table's generous round top and central base mimic the radial symmetry of the cactus, creating a striking yet harmonious presence in any dining or gathering space. Asterias is a bold blend of natural inspiration and meticulous craftsmanship.

This design's structure is composed of six curved, wedge-shaped panels that extend gracefully from the central plinth, forming a sculptural 3D-printed base. The top, available in 160 or 180 cm diameters, features a subtle rounded edge and is divided into four wedges in the wooden version, creating a geometric rhythm that invites closer inspection.
Asterias can be fitted with a central Lazy Susan turntable, a feature celebrated in Asian dining culture, allowing effortless sharing and enhancing conviviality. The table’s proportions and innovative design make it equally suited to intimate meals or larger gatherings, adapting with elegance to a variety of lifestyles.
