In a numbered series of only 154 editions, the D.154.2 in gold is the scintillating crown of our 90th anniversary year celebrations.
First presented in the Experience Room at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, this collector’s edition of the D.154.2 by Gio Ponti is offered in a very limited release, each accompanied by its own certificate of authenticity. Imagined in a metallic-effect gold woven upholstery, the iconic armchair, recipient of the Compasso d’Oro Career Award for Products, is a rare and timeless gift for the design connoisseur.
Gio Ponti created the original D.154.2 for Villa Planchart, a 1950’s architectural commission on a lush tropical hilltop overlooking Caracas, Venezuela, for art collectors Anala and Armando Planchart. Great admirers of his work, the couple allowed Ponti complete freedom to follow his inspirations in the design — both of the villa and its interiors. The iconic shape of the D.154.2 has entered the canon of great designs by Italian masters and is considered an iconic product in the Molteni&C collection.
