Via Manzoni 9, 20121, Milan, ItalyOperated in partnership with ARC74, Palazzo Molteni is housed in a magnificent late 19th-century neoclassical palazzo, originally constructed for a notable Milanese family. The facade is accented with Art Nouveau flourishes, while the seamless juxtaposition of the building's historical grandeur and contemporary design is the vision of Molteni&C Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen.

The monumental seven-story building covers an impressive 3,000 square meters with a glass-canopied courtyard. Throughout the building, Art Nouveau and neoclassical features are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens with a geometric, coffered ceiling design and dark oak paneling to create a sense of flow. Each floor of the residence is designed to resemble the home of an art and design collector and is further enriched with a selection of art work, curated by Elisa Ossino, to effortlessly characterize and complement the architectural fabric.

MOLTENI GALLERIA
The upper two levels of Palazzo Molteni house the Molteni Galleria, part of the Molteni&C headquarters, featuring lounges, meeting rooms, hanging gardens and terraces. The Galleria serves as a dynamic venue for both private and public events and currently presents Il Conforto dell’architetto / The Architect’s Relief, an exhibition dedicated to the work of Michele De Lucchi, in partnership with Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura, the historic Milanese gallery founded in 1977, and with Francesca Molteni.
As architects, we are going through a paradoxical situation: in order to do our work, we continue to build, to occupy space and land, perpetuating a practice that today we increasingly perceive as invasive toward nature. And nature seems to rebel against human activity, sending signals through climate change and extreme weather events. On the other hand, someone must create our living environment, which is essential to meet our expectations and ambitions because, for better or worse, we are animals that constantly change.
Michele De Lucchi
The exhibition brings together around forty works spanning sculpture, paintings, and drawings — some shown for the first time in Milan. The artworks take shape as reflections on material and making, the outcomes of an intimate and meditative process.
