Molteni&C is pleased to announce the opening of a new Flagship Store in San Francisco, California, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s expansion across the American market. Launched in partnership with Luminaire, the store signifies a fusion of innovation and tradition, showcasing the excellence of Italian and international design.
Located in San Francisco's burgeoning Design District, the new Flagship Store promises a dynamic addition to the area's renowned design scene. The district, already home to numerous high-end showrooms, has seen a resurgence thanks to a boom in residential and tech developments. The Molteni&C store, nestled among these premier locations, brings a fresh, interactive experience to design enthusiasts.
The store itself is a conceptual celebration, housing works from illustrious architects and designers such as Vincent Van Duysen, Jean Nouvel, Herzog & de Meuron and Gio Ponti. Reflecting Molteni&C’s ethos, the space exudes a cozy yet contemporary atmosphere, evolving seamlessly with the times.
Visitors are welcomed into a naturistic living area featuring the iconic Palinfrasca sofa, inspired by Luca Meda’s 1994 design. The space is further enhanced by Vincent Van Duysen’s Regent coffee tables and Boulogne basket. The journey continues through the Tivalì 2.0 kitchen by Dante Bonuccelli and the award-winning Intersection Island by Van Duysen, paired with Woody stools by Francesco Meda.
The store also showcases the Augusto sofa, Regent coffee table, Paula pouf, and Living Box by Van Duysen, alongside Nicola Gallizia’s 505 UP system and Herzog & de Meuron’s Porta Volta chair. Additional highlights in the showroom include the Old Ford table by Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel’s Graduate bookshelf and the D.153.1 armchair by Gio Ponti, the original design of which featured in Gio Ponti’s private house in via Dezza in Milan.
A central living area features the Marteen sofa, Cinnamon armchair by Naoto Fukasawa, and the iconic D.552.2 small table by Gio Ponti. The Gliss Master walk-in wardrobe system, Ovidio bed, and other pieces by Van Duysen complete the store’s bedroom collection, creating a serene and functional sleeping area.
Spanning almost 300 square meters, this store is a testament to Molteni&C’s commitment to craftsmanship and design innovation. The Flagship Store offers an immersive layout designed to inspire and elevate the culture of quality living, making it a must-visit destination for design aficionados in San Francisco.
