Drawer units

Aesthetics and function. These two principles guide the design of Molteni&C's drawer units. An example of this is 4040 designed by Dante Bonuccelli, the result of an encounter between technology and daily life: the structure is made of poplar clad with oak or eucalyptus, like the pressure-opening drawers. Luca Meda, one of Molteni&C's historic designers, takes versatility to new heights with 909, a series of chests of drawers and containers to be used on their own or in combination, available in a large number of finishes (opaque lacquered, glossy lacquered, coloured or etched glass. From Gliss Master, one of the creations of Vincent Van Duysen (futuristic in every way, from technology to pure aesthetics), is born Gliss Master Island. This free-standing element is ideal for completing the cloakroom area of a walk-in wardrobe: the product's distinctive features include storage trays and elegant shelves in eco skin. Teorema, designed by Ron Gilad, appears to be more a work of art than a container. It is almost the opposite of Grado°, the collection in the form of a void by the Israeli master designer. Teorema is its flip side. A series of containers with a diamond-shaped structure obtained from a single surface clad in eucalyptus or canaletto walnut. The superimposed elements, which can also be used individually, create unique compositions that can redefine an interior. These are followed by modern bedside tables by Milanese designer Rodolfo Dordoni. 606 is a family of elegant, understated and well-structured containers: the front of the chest of drawers, designed in 2010, has no handles, while the top can be in glass or marble. The more recent 5050 can be seen as a development of the theme: a bedroom furniture series with glossy and opaque lacquered surfaces, together with wooden tops and eco skin trays. An alternating play of voids and solids.
