With the Petalo armchair and pouf, Vincent Van Duysen enhances the Outdoor Timeout Collection with gentle curves and delicately enveloping seating.
Timeout Collection
Timeout interprets the theme of metal, presenting it in a modern way in a whole range of furnishings, such as: two-seater sofa, armchair with or without armrests, chair with or without armrests, sunbed, stool, bench, low table and dining table - to define plein air environments or spaces half indoors and half outdoors. Van Duysen draws his inspiration from the tradition of fer forgé, reserving for the metal a formal precision and purity that recalls elegant, modernist languages. The coldness of aluminium is warmed by the burnished paint, a colour that evokes the natural world, such as the browns of earth, lit up by warmer tones.
The proposal is distinguished by the aluminium band which, continuously bending, creates the support structure, the armrests and the support feet. The weaving theme becomes purely evocative in the metal part: linked to the idea of movement rather than mere form, minimal without losing its material sensuality. Instead, the “weaving” becomes explicit in the upholstery of the structure, made of a weave of polyethylene fibre ribbons. A minute and dense weave, capable of generating an effective contrast with the minimalism of the metal part. The weave, masterfully executed by hand, also brings with it those values of rarity and preciousness of craftsmanship.

The Picea coffee table, a Vincent Van Duysen design, is a seamless addition to the Outdoor Timeout Collection.
A collection with a minimal and contemporary aesthetic that interprets elements of the Mediterranean tradition: fer forgé and hand woven polypropylene rope.
The Timeout Collection offers a wide range of seating: in addition to the two-cushion sofa in two sizes, there is also a generously proportioned armchair and a table chair with a slender, aerial profile, both available with or without armrests, and the result of a careful study of ergonomics.
“For a new idea of outdoor furniture, because it is based on cultural and design references from tradition, but modern, characterised by an idea of simplicity that stems from careful plays on proportions. The technology is cutting-edge but hidden, the materials are natural, timeless. Characteristics that are intrinsic to Molteni&C's identity: the careful craftsmanship of the production, the sophistication of the details, the beauty of the individual objects that encapsulates the lessons of the great architects and designers it has interpreted. The new outdoor proposal shows a graphic presence and a sense of timelessness that I find in the brand”.

Completing the Timeout Collection is a large low table in two widths, for versatile, intimate or convivial outdoor living spaces. It picks up on the aesthetic motifs of the collection such as the burnished aluminium band, profiles and rounded corners. The support bases, obtained from the continuous run of the same band, are set back from the top to make it visually lighter, as if suspended.
The Timeout Collection dining table interprets the archetype of outdoor tables with a slatted top for water drainage. Seating 6 or 8, it stands out for its carefully calibrated proportions and choice of materials that allow it to match both of Molteni&C's new outdoor collections.

A multipurpose element with an accentuated horizontal nature, the bench lends itself well to the freedom of use and mobility inherent in outdoor furniture.
The sunbed, the archetype par excellence of outdoor furniture, interprets all the elements that characterise the aesthetics of the Timeout Collection, re-proposing the theme of the burnished painted aluminium band, running along the entire profile, and the traditional motif of the polypropylene rope weave.
Vincent Van Duysen designed the Regent coffee tables with three top shapes: round, oval and square. The size of the tops is inversely proportional to the height of the coffee tables, allowing them to fit into each other, creating islands of elements side by side. The round one is also designed to be placed above the sofas in the two collections, providing a useful shelf.
The interaction between the two collections is enhanced in a comfortable pouf, in two sizes, with a woven texture, to complete the accessories proposal of the Timeout Collection.
Practical, lightweight and easily movable baskets for towels or magazines are designed to create order and embellish outdoor spaces.
