sofas

A collection with a minimal and contemporary aesthetic that interprets elements of the Mediterranean tradition: fer forgé and hand woven polypropylene rope.

Design Vincent Van Duysen

The Timeout Collection is characterised by the burnished painted aluminium band that frames all the profiles of the furniture like a ribbon, rounding off at the corners and thus creating, in a continuous stroke, the seat support, armrests and support feet. The latter, seen from the side, appear slender and light, giving a sense of dynamism.

The sofa is available in two versions, also with two cushions, with widths of 150 and 180 cm. The use of aluminium, which weighs significantly less than iron, allows for easy movement of generously sized furniture. The easy movement and reconfiguration of elements is an inherent feature of outdoor furniture.

The burnished painted aluminium structure, which creates a double curvature in the seat crosspiece to soften the edge, is highlighted by the polypropylene rope upholstery available in anthracite, olive green and desert yellow. It is a dense weave made entirely by hand, with a motif reminiscent of the Mediterranean tradition of baskets and panniers, which 'warms' the minimalism of the structure.

This is a material and colour contrast that makes the Timeout Collection contemporary and timelessly elegant. Refined and almost imperceptible dimensional correspondences give the furniture balance and harmony.
In addition to the sofa, the range includes a large array of products, such as armchairs, a dining table with seats, a stool, a comfortable sun , side tables and a bench.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
