Palazzo Molteni is situated in the vibrant heart of Milan, just steps from Piazza della Scala at number 9 Via Manzoni. The historic, 7-story building was erected in the late 19th century as a neoclassical residence for a prominent Milanese family and underwent a sweeping redesign in the Art Nouveau style by renowned Italian architects Giuseppe Mentasti and Stefano Lissoni in 1922.
Freshly reimagined for the contemporary era by Vincent Van Duysen, the space now serves as an Urban Pavilion—an inviting and eclectic meeting place and a destination for design. Presenting an experimental formula, the palazzo is neither a true Flagship Store nor just a showroom or shop, but a place where the Molteni&C culture of quality living takes center stage.
The top two floors house the Molteni Galleria, a part of the corporate headquarters and serving as a space for events and cultural gatherings.
“This palazzo is the best expression of what Milan means”
— Vincent Van Duysen
Palazzo Manzoni preserves an intimate, subtly understated character so typical of buildings in Milan. Vincent Van Duysen imagined a journey through the building's seven floors in a sequence of very different spaces that echo the original layout of the historic residence. As a whole, it embodies an ecosystem of reciprocal enhancement between art and design to create a grand, open showcase of Italian lifestyle.
