Leading Italian designer furniture company with more than 80 years of history, the Molteni Group is opening a new window on the world in the heart of Los Angeles. A study of elegant modernity, the new Molteni&C|Dada Flagship, in partnership with the ddc Group, is designed by acclaimed Belgian architect and Molteni&C|Dada’s Creative Director, Vincent Van Duysen.

Inspired by the houses of the great architects of the mid-20th century, Molteni&C|Dada’s design is evocative of an Italian villa. The store is gracious and fluid, providing guests with the opportunity to experience a sequence of evocative settings. Its open architectural plan serves as a perfect backdrop for the latest Molteni&C|Dada offerings. Collections include designs by Vincent Van Duysen, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ron Gilad, Foster+Partners, Jean Nouvel and Patricia Urquiola, among others.
Suspended wooden ceilings alternate throughout, made with both flat and dark oak beams.
The ambience is a triumphant representation of Van Duysen’s architectural concept.
Vincent Van Duysen’s creative direction proposed distinctive, sophisticated materials as partitioning devices between rooms: warm, golden colors of travertino marble and black oak alternate with various shades of warm and bone greys.
The flooring is a mix of different materials such as black oak, travertine stone and palladiana, giving the individual spaces throughout the store a strong point of view. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a remarkable floor-to-ceiling wooden entrance door, a signature Van Duysen design that is already part of the Molteni&C|Dada’s distinctive style. Dramatic storefront windows shed light onto a loftlike sitting area featuring an exclusive travertino fireplace while opposite sits the elegant Highline Frame Door Dada kitchen.
The loft space was conceived by Van Duysen as a tribute to the modernity and sophistication of the typical 20th century Los Angeles home.
A sophisticated living area furnished with two handsome Paul sofas immediately follows. As guests travel through the store, they find themselves guided by a masterfully lit pathway of spatial, material and stylistic expressions. The ground floor features Molteni Group’s icon pieces, effectively showcased in each setting. Design offerings alternate between Gio Ponti creations and a curated selection of the Molteni Group’s Heritage Collection. Highlights include the new dynamic Gregor seating system, the sleek and modern VVD kitchen, and a nighttime area which features a sequence of sophisticated Gliss Master wardrobes and the generous Master Dressing system, Molteni&C’s exclusive walk-in wardrobe design.
From a private courtyard in the center of the ground floor guests can embark upstairs to a private lounge which hosts an impressive, Slide Armani Dada kitchen. Inviting guests to an all-immersive brand experience, Molteni&C|Dada is the single destination for Italian design excellence in Los Angeles.
The opening of the new Flagship in Los Angeles is a key component of the Molteni Group’s continued strategic expansion of its sales network in the U.S. Situated in the lively neighborhood of West Hollywood, the new space, which measures over 7,600 square-feet across two levels, is defined by the intersections of Melrose Avenue, Beverly Boulevard and Robertson Boulevard, the center of the West Hollywood Design District.
Officially organized in 1996, the district has been the premiere cultural destination for high-caliber design, art, fashion, dining, and beauty, and has attracted creative people from around the world looking for discerning taste and timeless sophistication since the 1950s.
