Vincent van Duysen continues his research into the world of contemporary living by designing this Gregor modular system for Molteni&C.
Gregor comes complete with differentiated functional solutions.
It includes various straight, corner or peninsular units that can be mixed and matched together to give multiple combinations for a living space destined for conversation, reading and entertainment, with all the media devices readily available.
The multiple features underline the overall lightness of the design.
The steel base, in a new zinc finish, supported by small feet that recall VVD’s most recent furniture designs, such as the Quinten sideboards or the Jan small tables, is covered in leather, as are the winged armrests suitable for supporting soft cushions while at the same time acting as a useful surface.

Gregor is a sofa collection playing subtlety with low proportions, thicknesses and a mix of refined materials.
Lo schienale riprende il classico approccio del designer belga, al tema divani. Ampio con cuciture in rilievo, ma con una soluzione innovativa per risolvere l’angolo che in questo progetto è arrotondato per dare continuità alla forma.

Vincent Van Duysen nace en 1962 en Lokeren, Bélgica, y consigue la licenciatura en arquitectura por el Instituto Superior de Arquitectura Sint-Lucas de Gand. Desde 1986 hasta 1989 trabaja en Milán y Bruselas; a continuación, en 1990, abre su estudio en Amberes concentrándose en la arquitectura y el interiorismo. En sus trabajos la relación entre interiorismo y arquitectura es profunda – muebles y complementos se conciben en una perspectiva arquitectónica que no se limita a la forma sino que se expresa en una atenta percepción del espacio interior y de su relación con la arquitectura exterior. Interpretando la arquitectura y redefiniendo sus dimensiones Van Duysen crea hoy objetos de gran pureza y esencialidad que sin embargo mantienen un carácter concreto y sólidas bases formales.
